This will likely be the last public post on this topic, with the exception of a possible *fix* sometime in the whenever future. Do feel free to come back, anon, for more arts or whatever it is you followed me for.
Judging from the supportive comments from a lot of you *thanks, by the way* people are assuming that I’ve been personally upset by a subset of reactions. I can assure you, I’m not. I’d hoped that was clear from the tone of the posts. What I am assuming people are reading into, is the fact that I’ve chosen to post and answer an unusual amount for my blog.
Well the truth is, I never get a several thousand notes and bunches of messages in a single afternoon. So I had more questions which I felt I should answer. Some of which I’m answering privately, some I’m answering publicly because they address concerns I’ve noticed for years now.
It’s sometimes flattering and a little odd to get this much of a reaction over something I’d made 3 years ago. And frankly, a lot of the same concerns were voiced then as they are being voiced now. You should check the reddit thread(s) that crop up around this comic. So I figured it was worth stating my position on the matter, where I was coming from, and whether or not I have any plans on moving forward with changes. Currently, I don’t. Editing a comic this old and established feels silly.
Thank you for your messages. But I’m really not at all upset. I’m just genuinely interested in their concerns, because something unintentional like this distracts from the overall tone or message of the creation. I’d like to avoid minor unintended fouls in the future, but I can’t promise that I will. All I can promise is to continue trying to make interesting things, or at the very least fun things.
Like the doodles and drawings Anonymous over here, probably followed me for. I’ll be happy to oblige. I just remembered how much I dislike artist statements, anyway.
