Am I talking about “Can You Make it Through This Post Without Crying?” or am I under the “8th Annual Pregnant Bikini Contest?”
Hint, it’s not the RNC posts.

Hey. Drawing some Batgirl over here.
Hey guys, I’ve lent out the good ol’ Coney Island Art Institute stream to my friend over here. He’s pretty awesome. And he’s drawing Cassandra Cain, so considering like a good quarter of my audience comes from her fans, I figure I should just bold that name and get you guys to come on by. If anything, Sir’s just an awesome artist to watch and support.
UPDATE:Show’s Over. See ya next time.
This is directed more at Tumblr users than people viewing the blog itself, via RSS or other means of tracking website updates.
Just how many of you guys scrolling through the dashboard actually visit the person’s Tumblr site in question? I’m thinking about redecorating the place, so it can suit different needs for different users. Currently the focus has been on getting people in to see a piece of artwork and get out. But now I’m wondering if I want them to stay and see some other art as well.
If you see something you like and want to know more, or you’re wondering about the source of some image or even a quote that got you angry, how often do you bother with going to someone’s site? And why?
Hey, hey remember that thing that was dangerous? Well it was. And attacks did happen. But looks like now you can get that problem fixed and go back to using your Java for your Oekaki’s or Scripts or Whatevers.
Good news everyone? Good news.
Download at Oracle. Or, alternatively, don’t download and just uninstall it. You might not really need it.
PS. Disabling Javascript does not protect you from the vulnerability.
It’s annoying, but it’s best to disable your Java Plugins for the time being.
More info on how to do that: http://bit.ly/O04uQ0
Props to my Facebook friends for the info on how to do it. They pretty much rock.
I checked in my Firefox, and one was already disabled, and I just turned off the other Java plugin. While neither were exactly named the one mentioned in the linked article, better safe than sorry.
Thanks for the heads up. :)
This is kind of a pain, as tumblr is affected by it as well, but again, better safe than sorry.
Java is probably running on your browser right now. A quick explanation about a Zero-Day attack is that hackers will attempt to exploit a newly found vulnerability, and attack while the developers have not managed to fix it. And with Java, that can be months until Oracle System’s next update.
Malware installing exploits are among the worst things the internet can throw at you, and a malicious keylogger on your system makes your computer your own worst enemy. So I’m not going to take this threat lightly. But I am opting to go with a half way solution so I can visit the one or two trusted sites that require Java.
“If you primarily use Java because some Web site, or program you have on your system — such as OpenOffice or Freemind — requires it, you can still dramatically reduce the risk from Java attacks just by disabling the plugin in your Web browser. In this case, I would suggest a two-browser approach. If you normally browse the Web with Firefox, for example, consider disabling the Java plugin in Firefox, and then using an alternative browser (Chrome, IE9, Safari, etc.) with Java enabled to browse only the site that requires it.”
This might seem like a hassle but keeping your computer safe, and browsing smart, is as much of a personal responsibility as knowing how to stay safe on the street. I changed the title from the original blog post here to something a bit more serious.
More reading can be done on these sites.

No time to be cute, this is serious business.
Oh god, don’t ask me. I pretty much do everything wrong and then change my mind on how to do it the next time. I actually have a small tutorial on the subject, for one of my more complicated methods. But mostly what that does is train you to think differently about light and color than most sensible artists would.
In any event, here’s the link.
The only real takeaway is that you should always color the whole picture first. And then add everything in piece by piece. You’ll only really know what a color looks like, after you’ve placed it next to another color.
As a candidate, Barack Obama said we needed to reckon with race and with America’s original sin, slavery. But as our first black president, he has avoided mention of race almost entirely. In having to be “twice as good” and “half as black,” Obama reveals the false promise and double standard of integration.
“Ta-Nehisi Coates, on racism.” (via theatlantic)
I spent some time with this article late this afternoon, and it’s a very worthy read the whole way through. Thoughtful, a bit depressing, but with a hopeful outlook. It was particularly helpful after a frightfully stupid Romney-ism this afternoon.
I just sent out an e-mail to a few of the people who’ve reserved future slots. If you didn’t get one from me just now, and were waiting for a slot to open up, I’m sorry I might’ve missed your name in the long list. Please feel free to e-mail me at psuede AT gmail DOT com, if you didn’t get a renewed invite for a commission slot.
For the moment, if you hadn’t before reserved a slot please refrain from asking for one until I put up a new official commission post again. If you were waiting for them and had messaged me before, please check your e-mail.
Prices were raised a bit, so there’s a chance some people won’t take to them. I’ll let you guys know if things open up.
It’s that time again! 99 pages of the internet’s premier comics magazine served up for your enjoyment, absolutely free! We’ve got a dozen comics for you this issue, and we’d wager they’re our best dozen yet! What are you waiting for? Download a copy right away! You’ve got a choice of two…
I thought I’d give these guys a shout out, free comics everyone! *slightly nsfw*
Pulp’s born purely from that sentiment, “Well if you’re so smart, why don’t you make your own comics.” And that’s just what these guys did. Three issues in, and the work is kinda cool. Check em out. Support em. And if you want, submit to them. It’s still a long time till issue 4.
You have five minutes to get your butt somewhere you can see Japan vs USA for Olympic Soccer gold. Do it. It’s gonna be good.
Update: I think I have a new favorite Solo.
Well THAT’S actually a bit more popular than I expected it to be.
I’m going to update it later, for sure. Right now there’s about a 1 out of 17 chance of getting Batman Being Batman, which I thought would be funny if only a few people were trying it out. Looks like it’s going to be a lot more than a few.
I’ll try to triple the amount of options in the spin. And I’ll release it as a 1.2 in a new post with a new logo probably sometime whenever the hell I feel like it.
Again, feel free to dump my ask box or comment with suggestions.?
EDIT: I also realize I misspelled Chappelle, for that I apologize.
I made a bit of it! Less than I would have liked, more than I usually do! I’m well ahead of my loans, but not done with them. Frankly a couple things entertainment related got in the way. A dead TV, a replaced desktop pc, nice trips, nerd events, and various other fun things all ate into the spare change. But in any event, the money situation is pretty okay on my end. Now, if you want to hear about how I intend to improve that further, hit the jump.

where are the sparkles. you said food should have sparkles. must I add them everytime for you?
I did kinda want it to look a little more… boringer. But yeah, I’m afraid I’ve failed my own house rule… to make anything look really tasty. Add sparkles. I may have to rectify this.
